Overview
Keep an eye on your Mac’s memory with MemPress, a handy menubar application you’ll find in the top-right corner of your screen. When your Mac has only 16GB of memory, sooner or later you will start using swap memory. It isn’t bad, but your computer can become less responsive.
I developed MemPress because I wanted to know if my system was using swap memory without going to Activity Monitor.
MemPress makes this clear: whenever swap memory is active, the amount used is shown directly in the menubar title.
When you start MemPress, the program will appear in the top-right menubar.
Features
- Continuous monitoring of the memory, you can set the frequency

- Displays the memory pressure and percentage in use
- Shows an overview of the different memory types used
- See the Real Mem usages of your processes

- Notifies you when you start using swap memory
- Updates via Sparkle
- MemPress is written in SwiftUI / Swift version 6 and notarized by Apple
